Services, Amenities & Family Program

Astoria Gardens offers a wide array of services within a choice of neighborhood environments. Each neighborhood is distinguished by its design and desired level of care; all are beautifully appointed.

Surrounded by comfortable elegance, services such as meals and health care are delivered with careful attention to detail and respect to personal preferences. Every effort is made to accommodate special requests, no matter how large or small.

Common areas are open and residential, so residents feel at home. They're free to help themselves to a midnight snack, start a movie when a great-grandchild comes to visit, or invite a friend to stay for lunch at the last minute.

Other amenities include a choice of private or companion suite, gracious common areas, cozy fireplace lounges, a wellness center, hair salon, and enclosed courtyards with patios, gardens, walking paths and water features.

Families enjoy visiting in the beautiful living and garden areas.

Staff members are carefully chosen and trained.

We hire people who are patient, kind and empathetic by nature; who will provide care with pride, respect and professionalism. The Director and Nurse are experienced, hands-on leaders.

Services include 24-hour supervision, daily home-cooked meals, medication supervision, help with bathing, dressing and hair care, housekeeping, laundry and transportation.

A qualified program coordinator oversees our integrated programming, designed to meet a variety of needs seven days a week. The activity program encompasses both planned and spontaneous events, such as card games, parties and celebrations, coffee chats, physical exercise, learning opportunities, and trips to concerts, restaurants and various points of interest.

Caregivers do not wear medical uniforms, assisting residents with the activities of daily living as unobtrusively as possible. They are trained to use creative intervention and communication tools with anyone who feels sad, anxous or distressed. Caregivers also spend quality, one-on-one time with residents, encouraging them to engage in activities.

Knowing each person's story is the key to personalized care.

Individualized service plans are created after a thorough assessment of needs as well as interests, daily routines, personal history and preferences. Knowing as much as possible about each person helps staff interact with residents on a very personal level and provide care more effectively.

Changing needs are managed through regular follow up assessments. Every effort is made to provide the care that will enable each person to live safely and with dignity.
